ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST REPORTING TO HES MANAGER
Reporting to the HES Manager

The position will be based in Lagos Beach, Badagry but has responsibility across the Company’s other locations in the sub-region.

Key Responsibilities
Developing and implementing environmental management systems/strategies and programmes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Environmental Management Planning
Environmental monitoring audits.
Employee and contractor training and awareness in Environmental issues
Compliance Reporting
Incident investigation
Environmental Impact Assessment

Key Competencies required
A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field with 3 to 5 years relevant experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Environmental Assessments
Pollution Prevention, Abatement, and Control
Environmental Management Systems
Remediation, Restoration, and Reclamation
Sound Environmental Regulations principles relating to Oil & Gas industry.
Waste Management Systems, Processes, and Procedures
Sampling and Analytical Work related to Environmental Activities
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)
Use of Dispersion Modeling Software
Proficiency in MS Office
Excellent communication and interpersonal listening skills
Excellent team work


HEALTH ENVIRONMENTAL & SAFETY (HES) SPECIALIST (BADAGRY)
Reporting to HES Manager

With job responsibilities in the company’s Compressor station in Lagos Beach – Badagry and Regulating and Metering Station in Cotonou – Benin.

Position exists to:
Support field implementation of HES systems and programs
Develop, monitor and ensure compliance with the HES management system
Identify HES training needs, organize and coordinate HES programs and activities
Monitor and report HES performance
Review and update HES Practices, including emergency procedures, annually implement the emergency response program.

Key Competencies required
B. Sc in Engineering or Science, preferably Mechanical/Chemical Engineering with minimum of 5 years’ experience; or HND with 8 years’ experience in HES in the oil & gas industry. Professional certificates as NEBOSH or its equivalent will be an added advantage.

Hazardous energy control
Risk assessment and management
Inspections and auditing
Excellent team work
Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental management systems
Training and communication methods
Proficiency in MS Office
